About 90 minutes northwest of Denver, Colorado, the park is approximately 415 square miles. It contains 359 miles of trails, 150 lakes, and 450 miles of streams. There are over 60 named peaks higher than 12,000 feet, and over one quarter of the park rises above tree line. The highest point of the park is Longs Peak, which rises to 14,259 feet. Trail Ridge Road connects the town of Estes Park in the east with Grand Lake in the west. The road reaches an altitude of 12,183 feet, with long stretches above tree line. It passes the Alpine Visitors' Center, and crosses the Continental Divide at Milner Pass. This gorgeous park is not to be missed if ever you visit Colorado.
